The unique design of the Moscow apartment in the loft style

As you know, the loft style in the interior of the premises is used in former industrial buildings converted into residential apartments. Sometimes, part of the former production hall or warehouse is actually taken as the basis for creating a new residential building. But it happens that simply spacious buildings with high ceilings and large windows can be artificially given industrial aesthetics. In order to create an imitation of an industrial room, designers have many tricks and methods, but to fit into the created industrial interior all the functional segments necessary for a comfortable stay is not an easy task.

We would like to show you one unique design project of an apartment located in Moscow. Generally speaking, the interior of these Moscow apartments could be described in a nutshell as a bohemian loft. An incredible mix of industrial aesthetics, works of modern art, antique furniture and decor items with modern appliances and household appliances - all this against the background of the original finish, which shows untouched industrial walls, built-in electrical panels, open engineering systems, ceiling ceilings and original designs.

Living room

The most spacious room in a Moscow apartment, combining the functions of a living room, dining room, kitchen, music workshop and exhibition space, is a large room with an open plan and very conditional zoning. The interior design shows us all the most canonical tricks of the loft style - brickwork (partially painted, partially smeared with plaster or left in its original form), ceiling beams and ceilings, wooden supports, large windows with dark metal frames, found only in former industrial buildings, flaunted engineering systems and communications.

The interior of this spacious room can be viewed for hours and opened for itself every time in a new way, it is so filled with original decor items, antique interior elements, art objects and simply antique objects, the use of which is irrelevant in our time, but the appearance is more than shocking surrounded by loft style.

Thanks to the large panoramic windows, the room is flooded with natural light and can afford quite dark interior items, unusual decoration and fairly rustic elements and designs.

Conventionally, in the living room space, you can distinguish a relaxation area with upholstered furniture, a video zone with a TV and a segment of the music workshop. In addition to the general decoration, all segments of the studio room are united by the unusual design of the ceiling. Not only ceiling beams and ceilings, as well as engineering systems under the ceiling, have become the focal focus of the upper part of the room, but also a variety of lighting fixtures of the most unpredictable modifications. The lamps hanging from the ceiling beams and the mini-spotlights attached to them are fascinating. But it is difficult to understand which of these objects are called upon to fulfill their basic functions, and which bear an exclusively decorative function. Comfortable upholstered furniture with many decorative pillows and an original design coffee table on mirrored legs made up a segment of the living room's soft sitting area.

Only at first glance it may seem surprising that the objects of modern art and ancient elements of the interior fit perfectly into the loft style. Against the background of brick walls, bright art objects look expressive and impressive. Antiques in the vicinity of industrial aesthetics becomes even more distinctive, becoming a focal element.

The video zone is represented by a huge screen onto which an image is projected from a projector attached to one of the ceiling beams. The platform above this area is used to store collectibles. Of course, such values need a fairly bright light. And that means an individual backlight system.

Antique objects and modern technology against the backdrop of industrial decoration look so harmonious that it is difficult to imagine a similar situation in any other place. And this functional, but at the same time creatively filled area is full of design surprises. For example, the use of a huge floor candlestick instead of a floor lamp or an original interpretation of the portrait of a well-known creative person as a wall decor.

In the evening twilight with incomplete lighting, using only scattering light from the stylized candlestick bulbs of a large floor lamp in the form of a candlestick, you can create an atmosphere in which not only the performance of music becomes soulful, but also the ability to compose appears.

Open engineering systems, painted black everywhere became part of not only the functional component of the apartment, but also its decorative feature.

In the vastness of the Moscow apartment there are many elements, the purpose of which can only be guessed at. For example, is a punching bag really designed for training or is it part of a bohemian loft interior performance? Or a system of rollers and wheels on which wires of communications are wound - a necessity or a quirk of a designer?

Dining and kitchen

The open layout of a large space allows not only to maintain a sense of spaciousness, but also to create a layout of various functional segments within the same room so that the zoning between them is very arbitrary. For example, the dining area, located in the common space of the living room, is located in close proximity to the fireplace. And at the same time, the dining group, consisting of an original design table and transparent plastic chairs, is located close to the kitchen space, which, of course, facilitates the process of setting dinner and cleaning dirty dishes at the end of the meal.

Bedroom

The personal room is a bedroom, separated from the common room, but the interior here does not become more romantic or peaceful, as is most often the case in most dwellings. All the same industrial techniques, combined with antique furniture and decor, antique objects and modern lighting fixtures. But if the ceiling beams of rough processing with masonry and antique chests, which have become bedside tables, are no longer surprising, then the presence of an almost completely transparent shower cabin in the bedroom is a spectacular reception that not every homeowner will agree to.

It is a combination of industrial elements, such as metal beams, open communications, fan chandeliers with incredibly cozy carpets and prints on textiles that create homeliness, creating a unique aesthetic of a bohemian, comfortable and even eclectic loft.

Utility premises

In the bedroom, behind the glass partitions, there is a bathroom, the interior of which strikes no less than the uniqueness of other functional segments of the Moscow apartment. Contrary to the generally accepted traditions in our country, to tile the surface of the bathroom with ceramic tiles, in this room for water treatments, the decoration is presented in all the variety of selected finishing materials, colors and textures.

The use of unpainted wood for wall decoration, pebble stone as a flooring, brickwork as an accent surface - all this creates a unique surroundings for the main subject in the room for water procedures - a snow-white round bathtub. The original design of the bathroom is completed by a no less unique lighting system, represented by built-in lighting and a central chandelier in the shape of a white ball.

In addition to glass partitions and doors that separate the bathroom from the bedroom, you can create a more intimate atmosphere with the help of curtains in bright colors. The neighborhood of metal elements, rough finishes with colored stucco and soft pastel colors of textiles is the essence of the concept of a bohemian loft in a Moscow apartment.

Even in a small bathroom, the designers managed to apply the whole variety of finishing techniques that we have already seen in other rooms - brickwork, pebbled flooring. But using old tires painted in different colors to stylize the surface under the sink is a unique move.

A decorative element, from the category of mega-unique, or structural necessity - perhaps the electric panel in this bathroom performs not only these roles. Elements that are usually hidden away from the eyes in ordinary living quarters, hidden behind screens and built into furniture, come to the fore in loft interiors; their deliberately bright presence in the design becomes its highlight.
